Q. So it costs nothing to list my vacation rental property on your site?
A. Yup, that's correct. It's absolutely free for as long as you want to keep it on our www.myBlueChipRentals.com site.

Q. What's the catch? Why don't you charge anything for a listing?
A. There's no catch. We are interested in getting the maximum number of top quality vacation rental properties on www.myBlueChipRentals.com. We make our money from selling multiple listings, priority and highlighted listings, our Blue Chip Rentals Owner Plus product and our Vacation Rental Agency (VRA) PRO product. More listings make it easier for us to market our products and provides a better experience for vacationers searching for a rental.

Note that you can list one property or unit for free. If you have multiple units (e.g. condos) in one building, you can purchase additional listings for multiple properties at a very affordable price.

Q. We already pay to have our property(s) listed on another site(s). Why add our property to your site?
A. There are certainly other listing options online, but to keep your property(s) booked you really need maximum web visibility
  • You've got nothing to lose by trying us out for FREE for one property.
  • If you own multiple properties, our listing prices are very affordable compared to other alternatives and are priced according to how many you own (and want to list).
  • We provide a lot more than just listings. If you own and or manage multiple properties we have some simple but advanced software to automate your vacation rental business. Q. What do I need to do to get my vacation property listed?
A. First, you need to sign up for an Owner account which takes a couple minutes. We'll ask for only basic contact information and that you read and agree to the Terms of Service (there is no financial obligation for a single property listing). You Sign In (from the link on the top right of any page on the www.myBlueChipRentals.com with your user name and password, and you're ready to get started. You'll have your own myBCR portal to enter/edit your rental information, monitor communications with potential renters, change your account information, etc.

Q. What is Community information?
A. To help sell your property you can add mappable, nearby, attractions and community information. This together with your address allows myBCR to map your property and provide information on nearby attractions to the Vacationer.

Q. How long does it take to get my listing online?
A. If you have your vacation rental property information handy, it will probably only take 3-5 minutes. That depends, though, on how much detail you'd like to provide, how many photos you want to upload, etc. After you've signed in to your new account, you simply go to EZ Property Management to enter the information you have for your property (and we do have a few brief instructions, e.g. for uploading photos, etc.). We also suggest that you look at a few other listings on the www.myBlueChipRentals.com site to get an idea what you want to provide in your listing. Once you've entered your rental information, it will go live, immediately, on our site. Your photos will appear in approximately 24 hours after your account has been reviewed.

Q. How do I make sure that I have a really good vacation property listing?
A. Here are a few helpful hints for getting the best results from your listing:
  • Use several photos (taken with a digital camera, ideally in good sunlight and pick the best one as your property thumbnail)
  • Check off all of the information boxes that are pertinent to your property
  • Provide the best descriptive title and information that you can
  • Keep your availability calendar up to date
  • Keep your pricing up-to-date, and include pricing for at least 6-12 months into the future and keep it competitive for your area!
Q. How often can I change my property information?
You can Sign In to your account as often as you like and change your information anytime you want. After you've signed in, just navigate to he property listing edit page, make your changes and save them. The changes will appear online, immediately (photos, though, usually take about 24 hours for us to review).

Q. Will vacationers be able to see a calendar showing the availability and pricing for our vacation rental property(s)?
A. Yes they will. You have two choices: 1) if you have a calendar on your website now you can put a link in from our system to your calendar, or 2) if you upgrade to our online reservation package you can replace any links to your calendar with a link to your myBlueChipRentals calendar. This allows you to accept online reservations and show your property availability in one place online.

Q. How do vacationers contact us about our property?
A. Vacationers can call you directly, fax you, or email you regarding specific dates. The Contact the Owner' on our site requires that the Vacationer provide key contact information online. Then, once submitted, our system forwards that information to your email address. You can then handle the next steps with the vacationer according to how you want to do business as far as getting a rental agreement signed and getting a deposit, etc. Note that you might want to check out Owner Plus to help you automate these, and other key steps of your rental process especially if you own multiple properties.

Q. What if I want to list more than one vacation rental property on myBlueChipRentals.com?
A. If you own multiple properties we've got two excellent options for you:     1) You can list your properties for a fraction of what it costs on other big sites and pay on a monthly or annual basis, or     2) You can try out our Owner Plus online vacation rental software FREE for 90 days to help automate the key components of your rental business. You get one property listing FREE during the trial and complete access to the software. Then, if you purchase Owner Plus after 90 days all of your listings are also included.

Note that Owner Plus is primarily for owners with a small number of vacation rental properties (typically less than 10 but works for any number of properties). If you are a larger owner or manage a vacation rental agency, you'll want to try VRA PRO product to get the maximum automation of your business. All of your listings are included on myBlueChipRentals.com at no additional cost.

Q. What is the difference between Owner Plus and VRA PRO online vacation rental software?
A. Blue Chip Rentals PRO is essentially an abbreviated version of VRA PRO intended mainly for owners with a small number of vacation rental properties who need a good product to help them easily manage their rentals online but not the complete functionality...at a lower price.

VRA PRO is designed specifically for vacation rental agency businesses (of any size) and has a full range of functionality including the ability to report by owner, and integre to your website. It includes all set-up and services and a summary Dashboard that provides quick access to all functions and information, etc.

Q. How do we put a Featured Listing on your site?
A. Any client with an established account (and at least one listing on myBlueChipRentals.com) can get a lot of extra online marketing bang for not a lot of money by featuring a property(s) on the www.myBlueChipRentals.com site. You can place a featured listing(s) for 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months and pay by credit card after signing into your account.

Q. How does myBlueChipRentals.com provide visibility online for our rental(s)?
A. You may or may not have your own website, and you may or may not list your property(s) on other vacation rental listing sites. Regardless, myBlueChipRentals.com is an excellent online venue to show and tell about your vacation rental. Because of our ongoing search engine optimization work and investment and resulting large volume of search traffic -- your vacation rental will be found a lot easier and a lot more often by vacationers who arrive at www.myBlueChipRentals.com site page links (usually via specific geographical vacation rental or related search) that appear on Google, Yahoo, MSN or other engines.

Note though, that we can not actually generate bookings. We'll help market your property(s) online, but in the end it will be your location, property quality, availability and of course, price -- that get you consistent bookings online.

Q. If we have our own website, can we provide that link on our listing?
A. Absolutely, and we encourage you to do so. If you have a pretty good (or better) website. You can provide a link to the specific listing that you've entered into your myBCR account.

Q. What kind of support do you provide if we need help or assistance with our listings or Owner Plus?
A. We are available by email at support\@myBlueChipRentals.com during normal business hours, M-F, from 8:00AM-5:00PM and try to respond as rapidly as possible to your inquiry.

Q. I forgot my myBlueChipRentals.com password. What should I do?
A. Click the Sign In button on any myBlueChipRentals.com page (at the top right) and then on the Owner Sign In, and Forgot Password links. Once you re-enter your email address (user name), we'll email you your password. Plus, you can go into your account and change your password at any point.

Q. What is a Property Listing Review?
A. Vacationers who stay at your rental are given the opportunity to rate the accuracy of your property listing compared to their actual stay at your vacation rental. These reviews then appear with your www.myBlueChipRentals.com listing. Reviews are intended for both your benefit and the benefit of your potential rental customers.

Q. What if the review is inaccurate or submitted by someone who did not stay at my property?
A. We require information that will enable us (and you) to verify if the person submitting the review has stayed at your property or not. Also, if the review is otherwise deemed false or malicious, we will purge it from our site.
